About our provider
Dr. Macia Drummond, PhD, PMHNP-BC
I earned my doctorate from Molloy University and was honored with the prestigious 2021-2023 Jonas Scholar Award. My path to mental health care wasn't a straight line, but a journey fueled by a deep desire to help others. It all began when I worked as a mental health therapy aide at a state hospital, where I witnessed firsthand the struggles of those facing mental health challenges. This experience ignited a lifelong mission in me to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure everyone has access to quality care. Since then, I transitioned to practicing as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a role that allows me to directly provide mental health care to those in need.
-
Throughout my career, I've championed the well-being of marginalized communities, from parents navigating their children's behavioral concerns to adolescents challenged by social media and societal expectations. I've also walked alongside adults battling mood disorders and severe mental health challenges. No matter the age or background, I believe in the power of personalized care.
-
My goal is to empower individuals, not just to overcome challenges, but to thrive. I envision a future where they can maintain healthy relationships, find fulfillment in their careers, and actively participate in their families and communities. I understand that seeking help can be daunting, but my practice offers a safe and supportive environment. Here, patients are not judged, but seen, heard, and valued for their potential. As a mental Health provider, I believe that reaching out for help isn't a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength – a first step on the path to a brighter future.
